Katie Holmes’ New Katie Cut!!!

UPDATE 11/30/2007:Â To find out my feelings on the new Katie Cut click here.Â
So tonight I caught some of the trashy ET / Access Hollywood type of shows when I got home, and I need to pass something along from them - Katie Holmes has cut her hair short!
While I couldn’t care any less about what Katie Holmes does with her hair, I know that many many women in America do. So this message is for those of you who need to be part of the next big thing, which horrifically just may be this haircut.Â
If you think that you should cut your hair just as short and in the same style as Katie Holmes, go stand in front of the bathroom mirror and say to yourself, “Most women look ugly with short haircuts, especially hairstyles that arrive from a fad.”Â
Say it at least 25 times to allow it to sink in, and you’ll thank me when you see all the many women with their short “Katie Cuts” walking around looking like fools with ugly, ugly hairstyles wishing that they hadn’t been so foolish as to cut their beautiful long locks off.
If for whatever reason you actually do want a short haircut there are other hairstyles to choose from, just realize that you will need to have the proper attitude inside yourself in order to actually be able to pull off the short hairstyle look in a good way.
I must now beg you all to please do everyone the favor and pass this message along to as many people as you can, so that the “Katie Cut” does not become a sweeping epidemic across this great nation of ours all because Paris is in jail.
I never thought I would say this, but I really wish that Paris was free at the moment to not allow the People and InTouch magazines of the world to try and hype up / push this atrocity of a hairstyle. Paris we need you back for the gossip column headlines!
UPDATE: I have begun witnessing first hand the spread of this awful haircut. To read more about my first hand accounts and to find out what you can do to help, click here.

Beehive, thank you for saving me from this hideous haircut. Because, I’m sure you know i was about to run out and get one at the dawn’s first light.
Cheese, thank you for standing in front of the mirror and saying the mantra 25 times.
Now go help spread the word. We have a potential spreading epidemic as we speak. This is a very serious situation.
I rather like it, its got this quasi Black/Death/Gothic Metal chick look to it and you know that gets the Editor all happy inside. \m/
While it might look alright on her, for the majority of women it will look flat out awful.
Remember that most women cannot affor to just not work, have the help of a nanny or two to raise a baby, and get thousands of dollars in professional beauty help a year.
Picture that very hairstyle done at the Lemon Tree or SuperCuts. Do you honestly think that the end product would look the same?
The Lemon Tree? I can’t even remember the last time I SAW a Lemon Tree! Those were the days! hahaha!
[…] First off let me just remind all four of you who are reading this to help spread the word that Katie Holmes’ new “Katie Cut” should not be gotten by most women. You can read more about my feelings on the new Katie Cut in the post below or by clicking here. […]
What are you? Some kinda hair nazi?!
When it comes to poorly conceived hairstyles gotten due to a fad, yes.
btw Lori, you are one of the ones who can pull the short hair off.
I kinda like it.
[Cherry]… but would you like to see it on at least 20% of the female population under ager 45?

I liked Lemon Tree since they listened to me and cut as little hair off me as I requested, and Supercuts when they were on 5th Ave like 86th Street, as I ADORED my hair cutter who was a supreme Metal chickadee. Sadly, nothing ever came to pass as I was just the cool Rocker customer. Sigh, at least I have memories of the brief times. Sniffle.

Katie’s new haircut is very chic and sophisticated. Long hair is so average. And btw, there are plenty of very chic women out there that already have this cut - Katie is NOT starting it - however, if it sweeps the nation - great! Women will look more stylish.
I think Katie’s new hair cut is adorable…… on Katie. Like the hairdresser said, everyone won’t look as cute in this hair cut. It has a lot to do with jaw line, cheek bones, pettite facial features etc. I got a hair cut very simular to this one about two months ago, and love it! For me it was a great move. I had 14 inches cut to get this hair and treated myself to a cute short cut as a celebration for the loss of 55 lbs., but I think you should get a hair cut that is best for your face and body type, not the next new fad. I’d like to think Katie got her new cut from me.
Not the other way around. LOL
Greta… Women aren’t meant to look stylish, they are meant to look beautiful. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Nicole Richie are stylish, but they are not beautiful….
Gina…Thank you, and congrats on getting a haircut that suits you and your look. Also, tell everyone that Posh Spice & Katie Holmes borrowed your hairstyle.
[…] Much to the chagrin of both Cherry Ride & the Cheese, here’s yet another post about Katie Holmes’ new “Katie Cut“. […]
lame. I think it’s super cute.
Hi I found your comments VERY RUDE. I dont look good in long hair and have fine thin hair that looks awful long. I would LOVE to have long hair but have never been able to do so. Katies cute albeit cute is nothing new as someone else said and for you to say what you did was really insulting and shows your ignorance that only long hair looks good shame on you!
I’m actually going to take the picture to my stylist next time and try for this cut…only because a hairdresser screwed up my hair a few weeks ago and thought that the words “I just need a trip and shape up to my layers” meant that she should cut 6 inches off my hair and give my a rehashed (but not as cute Meg Ryan from the 90s cut). Once I had past the shoulder length hair with long layers, now the Katie cut would be an improvement.
SVG… glad you felt the need to leave such a comment. Keep up the good vibes.
Dawn… I hope that this works for you. Might I suggest you bring more than one photo of the Katie Cut, so that you can get more of the sides and back right too.
ITS A SHOCKER!!!!
That little man she married wants her to be a fashion ICON!
Let her be TOM
im a model for my hairdresser and he desided to try this cut on me but im super scared that it will end up a big fro cuz i have thick hair. any suggestions?
Lindsay… I saw your hair on your MySpace profile, and it is gorgeous! It seems to be a perfect fit for you.
Also, I’m really not a hairdresser in any way except for buzzing my own head, so I really can’t give you much advice as to what hairstyle you should get.
But what I can suggest is that you shouldn’t do anything that you don’t feel comfortable with when it comes to anything in life, let alone your hair, especially if it is a suggestion from someone else - given that, if you wanted to just say F it, and just see how the haircut ends up looking like go for it. Just remember that it takes a long time to grow your hair back to your desired length.
I knew beehive must be a guy–clearly–only predated men like long hair on women regardless of what it looks like, you know, the “natural” look, even if the hair is stringy and just hangs there like all the women in Hollywood!! Only a few adventurous women will take the plunge and get a real edgy look because most are like clones and look the same with the same stringy, nasty hair just hanging there. I am a man who LOVES edgy women who take risks. Get out there and get your hair cut ladies–quit following the Hollywood crowd with their ugly, stringy, long hair–it does nothing for you. If you don’t receive a compliment on your hair in a two week period, then it’s not the cut for you.
Rodney… Thanks for your Match.com-like comment that reflects your trying to get laid. Are you a member of the mystermethod.com message board too?
If you were to actually know me, you would know that I actually do have a thing for women with short hair, however, for anyone to go out and get a copycat haircut to look trendy is what I am trying to help women and I assume a few men from doing when it comes to the Katie Cut.
Also, people are going to compliment a womans new dramatic haircut no matter what, even if it looks bad. Why? Because people who know that woman on a personal level will want her to feel good about herself and what she did.
Compliments or not, the Katie Cut should not be done. A short haircut that suits an individuals face structure and personality would be more suitable.
Dear beehive and rodney, I am a hairstylist so……BAM!!!!! Let me tell you what fellas….I just perfected the ‘katie cut’. my client has very thick hair and I convinced her to do the katie cut. she loved it. I adapted the cut to match her facial features. It was amazing. Why can’t we all love each other? Be an positive influence? What do you straight men know about haircutting? Sounds like you might be gay and if that’s the case, then please proceed to comment on the subject. If not, then why are you even on this site to criticize katie and her cut?
I Think she looks really cute….And no she is not copying Posh….She wears the look much better than her. Give the girl a break she is just trying to fit in.
I think her haircut looks stylish and cute. At least she doesn’t have long trailer park hair like I am sure the beehive hairdresser does. Get with it! Change is good!
Michele, I keep my hair buzzed to about 2mm, and might I suggest that you get a life that doesn’t involve google searching “Katie Holmes New Haircut”…
Hi. It’s quite funny to read all of these comments. I am 30 and still young and trendy (well, I take on the trends that are not hideous) and have basically had a cut similar to the “Katie cut” for about 3 years now. Yes, I’ve got great hair…dark brown, slightly wavy and thick…and I’ve had it down to the middle of my back as well. I always get the most compliments when it’s chin-length so I end up cutting it again and again. I do go through phases where I want the long hair back but then my fiance reminds me that I have a different look. I’m sophisticated and unique instead of boring and stringy. In high school you have nothing better to do than brush your hair a million times a day and focus on how you look. But when you’ve got a career to focus your brain on, or kids like Katie, shorter hair is easier and looks more stylish without hardly trying. I have to agree wholeheartedly though, you’ve got to have a cute face to pull it off for sure!
Look if you do the Katie Cut…at least donate your hair if you can to locks of love. I am chopping off my hair (middle of the back) and sending it to locks of love this weekend. Its hair, and it grows back (unless you are my husband…then it just grows on your back). If your man really is into long hair, get a wig.
I couldn’t agree with you more, C.
I don’t like her new haircut, this old one is much nicer.
It’s adorable! And people who sit around insulting a beautiful young woman with fashion savvy are LOOSERS!!
GET A LIFE! It’s even cutie now that she has bangs. I’m sorry if you are too ugly to pull off this new trendy style I now understand why you are jealous of Katie. It’s a good thing she is too classy to care!
