A-Rod and the Yankees Approach A Deal

While nothing has been publicly finalized, it appears from various news sources that A-Rod and the New York Yankees are going to soon announce a ridiculous ten year deal that’s worth upwards of $305,000,000.00.Â
He is no doubt arguably the current best player in Major League Baseball, at least during the regular season. Seriously, A-Rod is a dominant force and would do pretty much nothing but help add your team to be a contender for the Pennant with his presence in the lineup.
Once in the post-season, A-Rod for the most part becomes a lame duck.Â
Here’s what I hope happens, the Yankees sign A-Rod to the ten year deal, and subsequently trade him to a small market team like the Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, or the Milwaukee Brewers.
BOOM!
In one swell swoop of a trade the Yankees will immediately give rise to a true contender in a small market team. The fans of that small market city will be super excited by their team finally being “in it” each year, and the best part about such a trade will be that the Yankees will never have to worry about that trade coming back to haunt them, since A-Rod will inevitably fall apart into a crumpled ball of wet socks come post season time each year.
Fact is, that a trade of this magnitude is probably what is best for the game long term.
