And from the looks of the spray painted R160 on various 6th Avenue express platforms I’ve seen, it sure as heck looks like the trains are actually shorter trains (assuming that the line denotes where they should stop in the station) and that they’ll be on the B and D lines soonish.

  1. That’s odd. There really aren’t any plans to put R160s on the Sixth Ave. line right now, and they’re definitely not shorter than the current trains.

  2. I’ve noticed those marks on other lines as well. Maybe they’re going to switch them around during service changes? Or maybe they’re installing hardware and it needs to be compatible with the eventual new trains?

    Or maybe the MTA is just retarded. That could be the case too.
