Whitney Houston Is NOT Coming To Town

Two weeks ago when I broke the news that Whitney Houston was coming to a small guido club in Bay Ridge I thought I smelled something funny about the whole thing.

Then some message boards from the neighborhood and Whitney fan boards picked up on the “news” that Whitney Houston was supposed to be coming to town and the people, well the people went a little nuts with excitement for her.

This excited fever grew so much so that The Brooklyn Paper needed to get to the bottom of this whole mystery, and as any sane person might have guessed, Whitney Houston is not coming to Bay Ridge.

As you might have guessed, the local yocal reporter went way over the top with word play in his article - it’s a must read if you need to hock up a large meal.

I know, I know…you’re all heartbroken by this Whitney Houston keeping her voice out of Bay Ridge to the dismay of many, and don’t worry about showing it.

I urge you all to cry very publicly from this sad news because you’ll most likely have lots of cry company since anyone and everyone who travels far and wide to go to just about any Bay Ridge nightspot looks like this…

And they’re all most likely DEVASTATED!!!

  1. Ugh. Those pics make me cringe. I hate guidos… and I’m italian.

  2. Congratulations on being the “bee in the ointment” on the apparent scam that was apparently hoping to be perpetrated by the owners of Pazzo on the general public who would have been attending an event such as this had it really been occurring. I saw the same sign as PiercingMetal.com HQ is not far from Beehivehairdresser HQ and wondered to myself how the club itself would even hope to host such a performer no matter what stage she is at in her career. My guess is that the tickets would have been sold to capacity and then a last minute cancellation would have been announced by the venue manager who just heard from Whitney’s publicist about her not feeling well and sadly unable to attend. Then some secondary entertainment would have been provided and refunds given to those who wanted them. With the club packed and liquored up there would not have been many who opted to leave and the house wins by getting over on the customer. I have seen this happen at some clubs who broadcast bookings for artists who were never even allowed in the country at the time and it just serves as a good reminder to always check the artist website to be aware of their activities. Love the Ridge as much as I do, I seriously doubt that the diva would have made a last minute surprise appearance “for the fans” while not even on tour anywhere else. Especially out here where no media insanity would be offered her.

Good venues for R&B shows such as this are always held at both BB Kings and The Highline Ballroom in NYC, and while sometimes a bit pricy, at least you are in a quality venue that will feature the advertised artist and not making you victime to a scam.
