It’s official…Astroland in Coney Island is closing after this Sunday.

After having sold the land that their family business resides on in 2006 with what I can only imagine to be greed in their eyes, Carol Albert and the Albert Family are officially calling Astroland quits.

GREED!

Sure, they owned the land and the business, and they had every right to do what they want with it within legal realms, but they are closing down shop simply due to their own shortsighted greed - I do not feel sorry for them or their lost cause of trying to run their family business in the world as it is now.

I’m not going to blame Thor Equities, who I see as being the douchebag developers who want to change the zoning laws of the land so that they can build mega expensive and unnecessary living units on it, I’m blaming Carol Albert and the Albert Family.

They were clearly making good money by running the profitable Astroland amusement park in Coney Island prior to the sale of the 3.1 acres of land.

Had they not been making money, they sure as heck wouldn’t have rented back the land that they sold in 2006 for the following two years after the sale, nor would they have been trying to get more years on a new lease.

It’s because of their own apparent greed of wanting to live more lavishly by way of landing $30,000,000.00 cash in 2006 that Astroland, a place where countless people over the decades have had amazingly good experiences at will shutter itself forever.

Congratulations Carol Albert and Family, your greed has certainly made Dewey Albert and his friends all roll over repeatedly in their graves.

Oh and Carol Albert and Family, should you guys have simply wanted equity and continuing to run your business, you guys should have gone to Warren Buffet - that’s one of the things that he primarily does!

Thankfully your family doesn’t own the land that the Cyclone is on - the NYC Parks Department does, however, should you ever want to sell the Cyclone, let the general public know - this way people who would keep it up and running in good working condition can join together and make the purchase.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go look in your general direction, place my thumb on the inside of my top teeth, and flip it out at your general direction.
