“Not for nothin…” is in no way the proper lead in to a sentence or subject in any land, country, or language - except Brooklyn.
“Not for nothin” is the quintessential Brooklyn term that is the perfect way for any and all Brooklynites to strike up a conversation or help make a point. No matter what level of education you have, if you’re from Brooklyn, you’re going to let a couple of “not for nothin’s” slip out a year - even if you have a doctorate!
“Not for nothin’, but I got the lab results back and you have cancer…uhhhhh it don’t look good. You know…not for nothin’.”
