Brooklyn Trash House

The house in the middle of the photo below is what we call a Trash House.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that the people who live there are trash or that the current owners are trash, but someone along the way…TOTAL TRASH!

Someone at some point in time decided to completely pave over the quaint front yard perhaps even tried to use it as an illegal parking spot.

It doesn’t appear to look as though it is currently used as an illegal parking spot since the car on the left would have been much closer to the “driveway” line.

Based on the location this house probably was last sold for or could probably get sold for $700k+ and look at the dump of a cement plot of land!  Beauty must truly be in the eye of the beholder on this one.

Oddly enough, this sort of fuglying up a property is quite a common occurrence in my neighborhood to the point that the city council actually had to rezone the neighborhood to state that people are not allowed to pave or cement over more than 80% of their front yards.

  1. I can’t believe they had to make a rule about paving your front yard. Only in New York city…

It’s sometimes referred to as “an Italian lawn”.
