I Hate NYC #30 Bad Parenting

People living in NYC tend to let everything be out in the open while out in public, especially parents with underage children.

Bad parenting comes in many shapes and sizes - but the worst kind to have to deal with are the bad parents who zone out to the point that they don’t hear or see a thing that their kids do, especially the annoying things.

For instance, yesterday afternoon I was stuck waiting for the light to change on the corner of Court Street and Atlantic Avenue in front of a mother and her four kids who were on their way to the Children’s Museum.

Two of her “precious” little bastards kept chanting…

CHOWWWCLATE…

CHOWWWCLATE…

CHOWWWCLATE…

PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAASE!!!

The mother didn’t hear a word of this and it just kept being chanted repeatedly for the three minutes it took for the light to change and for me to get far enough ahead of them to the point that their voices were out of hearing range.

The best thing to do in cases where bad parenting is visible in public is to not call them out about it since they are already known to be repugnant people by way of seeing their kids in action; so your best bet is to do a little dance and pray for lightning to strike, thereby allowing the Earth to be freed from some of the nasty genes that currently strangle the lands.
