I’m locked into a contract with Verizon Wireless until the summer and I cannot wait for it to expire – I look forward to the expiration so that I can jump ship and get an iPhone.

The only problem with this wait is that between present date and the expiration date I have to deal with the constant calls and letters from Verizon Wireless trying to get me to renew and extend my contract.
I don’t wish to renew and cannot fathom why anyone would stick with Verizon Wireless if they want internet service on their cell phone for these two basic reasons…
- Verizon Wireless is roughly $30 more per month than the AT&T iPhone plan.
- Verizon Wireless Broadband Internet acts as though it is 1999 dial up internet service and does not come across in actual service as being a true broadband service – it is just slow and takes minutes to upload a single page most times.
I was fooled once by Verizon Wireless and will not be fooled again.
Hey, how yous doin. I have dial up internet (from att) that I got in 1999. No cell phone, either. Too expensive. They cost about $70 a month or more.
Best,

I just got an iPhone through work (one of the perks of working for the death star…. er, AT&T). I’m in love with it. I don’t know how good the plan is price-wise (because they’re paying for it in exchange for being able to contact me pretty much whenever), but I enjoy the phone thoroughly.
My personal phone is a Helio Ocean, though. I went with them because they have unlimited texts and data, and their prices are pretty inexpensive, relatively speaking, for what you get. I’ve been pretty happy with them.
I do love the iphone – my boyfriend has one, and we use it all the time to get movie times – find a good restaurant nearby – get driving directions and a butt load of other cool features.
BUT – we don’t really use it to call anyone, because the service sucks – for that we go back to my reliable Verizon phone
I know verizon isn’t the best with the 3G network thing – but they never drop a call, and i get service everywhere in NYC. unlike AT&T.
Please note that my opinion on these providers is soley based on a NYC perspective – i have no opinion on how either proivder works outside of the city.
