In my own family, on a different note, an 1890s farmhouse was completely gutted and aluminum sided on 72nd. Street by the current owner, who also tore off the wooden porch... said it was beyond repair, but he COULD have remade it in its original image... my great grandparents bought that house around 1910... What a damned shame !

I would have destroyed their work every night. In fact, I heard that the family was near the air conditioner when they pushed it in. I would have walked outside and kicked their asses!
