Weird Park Slope Cat

Saturday night I was waiting for the B63 bus at 5th and 5th in Park Slope. While waiting I watched a black and white cat scurry across 5th Avenue and up 5th Street.
Several minutes later I noticed the very same cat up on top of the awning of the deli. It was trying to get into an apartment that had an open window.

The cat is on the window sill of the window directly above the “E” in deli. I wished I would have seen it jump it’s way up to the second floor like that; crates and an ice machine were involved, I think.
The cat couldn’t push the blinds enough to get inside, so it just laid on the sill and waited.
Anyway, I have no idea if the cat was a stray that just enjoyed breaking into various apartments at night or if the cat actually belonged to the person who occupies this apartment.
In any event, cat scurrying across 5th Avenue and jumping up to the second floor and trying to let itself inside was WAY cool!

My friends cat kept getting outside and not coming back for days. She was worried on what he was eating and how he could live that long on his own.
The guy next door came over to meet her because she just moved in. He saw her cat and asked if it was hers.
Apparently her cat was getting out, jumping on his porch roof, and going in the attic windows that didn’t have screens in. He would make his way to the first floor and eat his cats food and drink the water as well.
I though it was hilarious!
