Last year I posted this photo of myself to try and get you to switch to clean and renewable energy in the form of wind generated electricity.

Yes, I’m one of those freaks from the future who gets his electrical energy supply from the wind!!!
How do I do it? Easily! Two years ago I signed up for it online through my local provider, ConEdison. Yes, it was that simple.
They didn’t need to re-wire anything to me, nor did they need to change my account number or anything like that. All ConEd did was start purchasing the equivalent amount of electricity that I use from wind farms in Upstate New York, thereby (in theory) making my electrical supply come from wind energy – for all we know, that electricity that I bought from the wind went to power your apartment.
The first year I paid 18.something cents per kWh. This past year I paid 20.2 cents per kWh. This upcoming year I’ll be paying the low price of 14.5 cents per kWh.
One might say that you could get electricity at a lower price from ConEdison by doing nothing, and you might be right, but you are doing so in a way that is destroying the environment in the form of burning coal and helping cause a catastrophe in the making by helping keep the need to have nuclear power plants open.
It’s silly that here is a nuclear power plant in the form of Indian Head extremely close to NYC to that point that if it ever goes a little bonkers, there won’t be a NYC to live in.
What are you waiting for? Go jump the shark and come sign up for the green energy supply!
You’re actually right, I never really thought about switching to wind power. I should give this some serious consideration when I move out into my next apartment.
