This morning the USS New York arrived in the harbor with tons of her bow made from steel recovered from the World Trade Center.
We were there to watch as she pulled in through the Narrows, under the Verrazano Bridge and toward the Statue of Liberty.

Despite numerous 50-story buildings standing in Lower Manhattan, the skyline still looks empty.

Hi Eric(Mr. BEE), Thanks for the great pics of the USS New York. I had planned to get up on the bluff next to the Officers Club in Fort Hamilton and take some pics but over slept. The marathon doesn’t have too much self respect. Maybe trying to impress his girl friend??? Rosie Ruiz took the subway some years back and people wondered why she wasn’t even sweating when she arrived in Cenral Park. Remember her?? Paul
Ms. Ruiz was an inch before my time, but I’m always on the lookout for runners sneaking down to the subway.
Great photos of the USS New York, I wish I knew that it was going to be passing through to have done the same. A couple of years back I shot photos when the Intrepid was going off to be repaired and it was super impressive. Nice work Dr. Beehive.
