A Honeycomb Wasp Nest

by beehive on Mar.10, 2010, under Coolness

We noticed a decomposing wasp nest perched high up in a stinky ginkgo tree on a busy Brooklyn corner.

They’ve moved on to nest elsewhere this year and we can only hope that this nest safely falls in front of someone so that they are scared clueless.

I totally would have had to bring that home with me. That looks so awesome!

We were lucky to have snapped it while we could. We passed by this tree today and found that the nor’easter knocked it off and blew it away.
