Rich People Crossing

The back streets of Tribeca are more or less a web of rich people crossings.  The crossings are desolate much of the time, for many rich people with apartments there are so rich that they don’t even need to actually live there.  They merely hold the address as a status symbol or investment.

And for those of you unfamiliar with this location, the building on the right is an old relic of the modern-day American Express financial services company.  The building was built specifically for American Express to house their horses.  Yes, American Express was once powered by horses and needed to have stables to keep said horses healthy and their business thriving.

You know, because back in the day before telephone lines and modems existed, credit card transactions were done via horse.
