It has been over a year since the king of all dive bars, Mars Bar, closed due to gentrification. And it has been approximately one year since the building that housed Mars Bar was razed to make way for the construction of this luxury apartment building.
So goes one of the final chapters of low income alcoholic transplants to New York getting kicked out to make room for higher income pill popper transplants to New York. Ahhh, gentrification!
