Proof positive that Shawn Bentley can draw semi-straight lines and call it art way better than we can.

America’s Response Monument

This is “America’s Response Monument”.  As you can see, it sits behind a tall fence at the World Trade Center.  We aren’t certain as to why it is back there, but maybe it’s because the response that America did not do the best things after being attacked on 9/11?  Just maybe…

Anyway, the monument’s base has the MOST wordy piece of information that we’ve ever seen on a monument.

It’s like someone asked “How do we fit ten plus years of savage brutality onto a stone ten foot wide and five feet high?”  And then got the answer of “Very tiny letters.  Lots of them.  But we just won’t mention savage brutality.”

It’s been approximately two and a half months since we showcased One World Trade, aka the Freedom Tower.  A lot has happened since we last visited.

The construction elevator that once hung on the outside of the western side of the building has been completely dismantled and the newly installed glass gives the building a Washington Monument sort of old/new construction look to it.  Hopefully this will fade and blend in over time.

Meanwhile the eastern construction elevator still remains tall.

Does the United States Censor The Internet?

Sometimes we wonder how free we actually are here in the United States, especially when it comes to the freedom of the internet.

We find it odd that there are always readily available working links to the bad things occurring at the hands of other governments, yet whenever stories like the one pictured on the CNN homepage come our way that discusses the bad deeds that our government does on our supposed behalf, we are met with an error message.

And it’s not just CNN, we find these “error” pages to be quite common across the board when it comes to articles about the really bad deeds done by the government.  We wish that we could easily read them, but… something or someone usually makes it quite difficult and or impossible to do.   We find it all very odd.
