We happened to be in the right place at the right time. Today we came across this epic Philip Seymour Hoffman mural along 1st Street between 2nd and 1st Avenue while on our way to the barber.
We are probably alone in this opinion, but our favorite and most memorable role of his is his role as Sandy Lyle in the Ben Stiller/Jennifer Aniston 2004 comedy Along Came Polly.
This is the Avenue X subway station along the F train in Brooklyn.
It has recently come to our attention that this station is the number one likely place to freeze ones balls off in the middle of winter while waiting for an F train.
This very well might be the remnants of a sad day for someone. They dropped an ice cream onto the filthy floors of an MTA bus in the backwoods of Brooklyn.
It melted completely, but it has been so cold, that when we stumbled across it, it had solidified into the melted version of itself. RIP: lost ice cream bar.
We came across Mr. Ron Burgundy himself on Sheepshead Bay Road hiding beneath the Belt Parkway overpass.
Food for thought: when Will Ferrell drives along the Belt Parkway from Manhattan to JFK airport, he drives over himself.
Mind = blown!
Though we are pretty much tired of getting round after round of snow in Brooklyn this winter, we almost always enjoy seeing the grounds of the Visitation Monastery covered in fresh snow.
Today was no different, it looks simply marvelous! Tomorrow though, tomorrow will be different. For tomorrow we will have to push a stroller past the grounds and discover that the sidewalk isn’t yet and will never be shoveled — plowing ten inches of snow off of the sidewalk and then leaving an inch of snowy ice for the neighborhood to walk on is satanic if you as us.
