We found a cicada skin on our garden this past week.

They’re always cool to see, because the cicada’s use this skin to burst up out of the earth, crawl up a tree (or building nowadays) and then bust out of this skin.

With their end product looking like this.

And if you’re lucky, you can spot a tree with dozens of the skins still attached to it — ghostly remnants of the bug’s journey.
