We came across this old junker of a fire call box and couldn’t help but think that it would make one heck of a kick butt grandfather clock.
Which got us thinking about how some rich guy probably already has one of these as a grandfather clock somewhere — we’d like to meet him (or her) so that we could admire said grandfather clock.
It is evident that the clocks that adorn the old Williamsburg Savings Bank don’t seem to appreciate being called clocks of ‘One Hanson Place’ and as such they are acting out in rebellion.
On Saturday night the view from Pacific Street had one of the clocks reading 9:10 and another reading 7:25 — the actual time of day was about 8:45.
One would think that a building with million dollar condos and rentals that go for $4,900 a month would be able to keep the historic clocks working properly, but then again, money can’t buy everything!
Or is it that the rich can no longer afford to keep the clocks running properly?
