With the advent of cell phone being nearly everywhere, most of the old emergency call boxes that dot New York City have been disconnected. Thanks to the green initiative, these old call boxes are being reused in their present locations as an emergency garbage box.

We just want to remind everyone that you can get free coffee from Starbucks tomorrow, April 15th.
All you have to do is bring in a reusable travel mug to get that free coffee. Fairly sweet deal, if you like free coffee.
Hopefully you get a choice of free coffee, we can only drink the coffee that tastes as if it is a strawberry shake. The rest, bleh!
We were shocked to learn that the popular Manhattan coffee shop, Esperanto Cafe, on MacDougal Street has closed down due to an apparent fued between cafe owners and the building landlord.
We’ve enjoyed a time or two at this spot. That said, with it being closed it has left MacDougal Street full of irony…
Hopefully that touch of irony is enough to sooth to soul of the various writers who would go to Esperanto way in the middle of the night to do their thing in a friendly environment. Other than that we imagine that Alanis Morissette is giddy at the ironic value here.
