P.S. 264 Goes Pink

Earlier this week we checked up on the construction of Brooklyn’s soon to be P.S. 264 and have found lots having happened in the two months since we last saw it.

We could see a lot of ducts, pipes and cables had been run throughout the building.  Plus the insulation and facade in the process of going up outside.

Brooklyn’s Private Gulag

School is supposed to be a place that nurtures and grows the mind of a child.  Given this, what does it say about a school that cannot nurture or grow a couple of evergreens or trees like the long established and recently troubled Adelphi Academy in Brooklyn?

This place currently looks as though it should be used as a gulag, but hey, if you’re interested, they are currently accepting applications and the tuition is a mere $9,500 for Pre-Kindergarten, $17,500 for 12th Grade, and a mere $32,500 for Project Succeed — which isn’t even an actual grade level in school.

Brooklyn’s Best Turkey

Yesterday we spotted Brooklyn’s favorite Turkey, Lois, hanging out with the geese, ducks, chickens and roosters at Poly Prep Country Day School.

Based off of how turkey heavy the Poly Prep’s school lunch menu is, this turkey has LOTS to worry about.

Thankfully, Lois, managed to live through this past Tuesday’s turkey and vegetable barley soup.

Antique Warning Sign

We found this rusting sign adorning P.S. 104 in Brooklyn, NY.

We have no idea how old this rusty sign is, but it is making reference to Penal Law 722-b.

When we looked up 722-b within the New York Penal Code, we found that this sign is truly antiquated.

722-b in the New York Penal Code references “Compensation and reimbursement for representation.” It has nothing to do with loitering or trespassing or disorderly conduct or schools.

Either way, it’s one heck of a cool sign.

P.S. 264 Brooklyn (Update)

Construction is progressing at P.S. 264 site despite the winter freeze.

Just about everyday finds a long line of dump trucks awaiting their turn to get into the lot and filled up.

Plus an official ‘P.S. 264′ sign has gone up!
