Bright lights, big city Round earth, bright sun — that’s the case with the post sunset glow that peeks up over Staten Island and into Brooklyn.

We like to imagine that someone is in one of those backlit buildings and screaming “I LOST MY HAND, I LOST MY BRIDE!” or at the very least, ”STELLAAAAAA!”
It’s getting warm again, and that means that it’s not too frigid to head on down to the western most point on the Isle of Long for some photos of the sunset.

What does your sunset look like?
Here’s a shot of the Verrazano Bridge with a post sunset glow of purple haze.

There’s something about those clouds that when combined with the bridge’s tower, make it appear as though it’s a monster rising from the deep.
This is what the sunset looked like on December 20th at the Verrazano Bridge.

The sun sets pretty much the same on the winter solstice, which means that if someone puts a plaque on the bridge stating that the world is going to end in the year 5087, the future’s version of Nicholas Cage is going to have one heck of an apocalyptic hit film on his hands.
