We haven’t been able to put our finger on what it is about this scene that we find so appealing and interesting, but we’re totally drawn to it and love it.

It seemed oddly fitting that the two people left stranded in the right lane of the Henry Hudson Parkway for well over 45 minutes arrived via a ‘Hope Ambulette.’

We couldn’t help but notice that all they could do was ‘hope’ that they would get towed away unscathed.
Thanks to the weather and decomposition, Mackay Place, a one way street in Bay Ridge, has become a two way death trap at the corner of Narrows Avenue.

It’s almost as if Mother Nature wants it to be a death trap!
There are two things that a small, but vocal minority of people that live in and/or who frequent Bay Ridge love to do:
They tend to live in a ‘but it’s me’ and ‘I was only double parked for five minutes so it should be okay’ mentality.
It’s due to that small, arrogant and ignorant minority that makes walking, driving and generally living in Bay Ridge to be much more hazardous that other outer-borough neighborhoods.
Take a look at this scene from Friday afternoon along 5th Avenue at 88th Street.

Thank you, automobile drivers who were ‘just there for a few minutes’ to make this photo possible and give the driver of that van trying to squeeze by several minutes of frustration and good use of his horn blowing skills.
