The Peacocking Duck

While strolling along the southern edge of Governors Island, we happened to see this duck peacocking itself on top of an old pier in Buttermilk Channel.

TOTAL COOLNESS!!!

Bay Ridge Is Now Southwest DUMBO?

Something about this Fillmore real estate billboard tells us that John P. Reinhardt doesn’t actually know Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

It’s probably the fact that Reinhardt is PhotoShopped in front of the Brooklyn Bridge, a bridge that is on the opposite end of Brooklyn from Bay Ridge, and not the much bigger and directly local Verrazano Bridge, which is actually in Bay Ridge.

Oh, Mr. Reinhardt, you slay us with your billboard geography… or was this billboard your way of trying to say that Bay Ridge is now going to be called Southwest DUMBO when it comes to real estate listings???

Purple Haze Sunset

Here’s a shot of the Verrazano Bridge with a post sunset glow of purple haze.

There’s something about those clouds that when combined with the bridge’s tower, make it appear as though it’s a monster rising from the deep.

A Perfect Sunset

This is another shot of the sunset at the Verrazano Bridge from December 20, 2010 — aka Verrazanocolapse.

It’s quite perfect when the sun plays hide and seek by hiding under the bridge like that.

Start The New Year Right

We cannot think of a better way to ring in the new year than to start off with a spectacular photo of a sunset at the Verrazano Bridge — sunrises happen WAY too early.

Happy New Year!!!
